Seventh Grade Science
with Mr. Montgomery
Welcome! I am excited to have you in my Science classes this year. Here is a list of information to get you started with the school year and hopefully answer some of your questions.
In Seventh Grade Science students will spend the first trimester learning about life science or “Diversity of Life”. This will include more focused study of the Scientific Method, Classification of Living Things, the Microscopic World, Fungus, Plants, Animals, Cells and Cell Processes.
In the second trimester, students will be introduced to the Chemical Reactions unit. This is the starting point for Chemistry. Students will learn about Matter, how it behaves, Atoms, and how Molecules are formed.
In the final trimester of the year, students will continue with the study of Weather and Water. They will learn the processes of Evaporation, Condensation, and Precipitation through examination of the Water Cycle and Earth Science.
This year we will be learning about science through the inquiry based Foss Science Curriculum. I encourage parents and students to view the Foss Science Official Website at...
It provides support, resources and fun activities to further explain and enhance the learning taking place in the classroom.
